EASILY my favorite file manager
by Steve C - Sep 6th 2002 01:15:46
This thing is soooo configurable. I set a ton of hotkeys and now i just
fly thru file mgmt operations. Also I really like the start prog action -
pops up a little window with the selected file/dir in it, and anything you
type in gets run in a command shell.
The biggest thing is the UI paradigm. Gentoo is kinda like this but less
configurable...no documentation, etc. Now I just gotta find something like
this for my windows installation...right.

linux gets a file manager
by tony summerfelt - May 27th 2002 13:49:13
finallly, somebody did it right :)
'worker' was popular on the amiga for a reason, i spent hours configuring
the amiga version to get it just right, and i expect to spend time enjoying
the 'worker' configuration. after spending 2 minutes with it, it became my
favorite linux app.

Wonder Worker
by Martin Curran - Oct 12th 1999 18:41:05
Could easily become the file manager to end all file managers.
Worker now works (1.3.2 compiles with Linux-Mandrake 6.0).
One of the killer apps on the Amiga was, strangely enough,
a file manager called Directory Opus. It evolved into a kind
of replacement for the Amiga's desktop 'Workbench'. Worker has
lovingly re-engineered the classic version 4 of Opus.
Ralf has done a fantastic job that will have Amiga users
wiping away a tear. Those who have never tried Opus should
check out Worker and experience a taste of the best file manager
created on any platform. Worker shows a great deal of promise,
and is more than usable in its current version.
Worker, like Opus, can be configured to do powerful work
with commands, from one click of a button. Offering simple,
graphical access to otherwise cryptic command syntax.
For those of us who like to click and drool, the dribbling gets
no better than this :-)
